Cheryl G Galloway answered:
The contract in place will guide the events leading up to the day of closing and whatever extensions you may have placed in the contract. If you are close to the original closing date and have not sold your property, approach your Seller and try to negotiate an extension (Should be in writing). With the current market we are experiencing, they may be willing to extend also. If you have a Realtor, they are your best source of intormation. If you are buying on your own, your attorney is your best source of information on this subject, as they have a copy of the contract to refer to. Good luck. - Wed Oct 24 2007, 15:50
