"Anyone who has bought more than one home will know that not all purchases are created equally. Toss in the added ingredient of making a purchase from afar, we were in California for 90% of this transaction, and you have the potential for disaster. We looked for several years to find the perfect place to settle for our retirement years. We finally found the perfect area in Semiahmoo. Not being familiar with the area, we needed to find a Realtor who would give us honest answers and who would represent us in manner that would keep us from becoming another victim of a builder in our search for the perfect home. We met Brenda at an open house. We were impressed by her openness, her familiarity of the home she was showing, and especially her knowledge of the area. With her help we eventually found the shell of a dream home in the Aerie at Semiahmoo. The home was not finished so we had an opportunity to customize it. Seldom does reality measure up to ones dreams, and our purchase experience certainly can be used as a testament to that. We encountered many bumps in the road. Had it not for the integrity, guts, and loyalty displayed by Brenda (and the backing she received from her company) in representing us and looking out for our interests, I am afraid our dream may not have materialized. Brenda recommended, what turned out to be one of the best escrow companies we have ever dealt with, preventing many potential problems. She helped us with everything from hotel reservations to getting the utilities turned on. Most importantly, she went to bat for us, big time, over issues that arose regarding the purchase contract and other issues dealing with the completion of the home, even at some personal expense, when some in her position may have left us hanging in the breeze. She remained in constant contact with us and kept us informed of every detail of the process. She went far above and beyond what we expected and eventually carried us through the purchase and escrow closing. Any Realtor can do a fine job on a purchase that has no problems. But, we never know when problems will develop. It takes someone special to take on heavy problems and stand up for your rights as a buyer. If you want that special person to be on your team when you go into the purchase of a home, we highly recommend Brenda.
