I agree with Daniel. Commissions are approximately 3% per side. However, with short sales and bank owned properties, they could be close to 0. Don't forget that the 3% is a very rough number. If a relocation is involved, they usually take about 45% from the top. Then, a full service broker will take their portion, sometimes as much as 50%. Then-the agent has to pay federal taxes and both sides of social security.Then, there are expenses and time. Unless you are "after" some of your agen'ts commission, you shouldn't worry, unless you want to pay them more if they are under compensated. - Tue Aug 11 2009, 12:01
