About

I fell in love with Durango when I was 8 years old, while I was on a family vacation in the Four Corners area. I told my parents, “I’m going to live here when I grow up!”

I arrived in Durango to attend Fort Lewis College in 1975, graduating in 1981. I worked as a river boatman, ski instructor and a Panhandler Pie waitress during my college years. (Perfecting my customer service skills.) I became the Area Manager and local Jazzercise franchisee for 10 years until I retired from my fitness career to become a realtor.

I earned my Real Estate license in 1986 and have been selling “Lots” of real estate full time for the past 15 years. Of course in a small town, we have the opportunity to sell all types of real estate. I have been in the top 5% of realtors in our area throughout my career.

I have experienced many stages of life in Durango, from college, to raising my children, and now as an empty nest. I have much to offer people in all phases of their lives in finding the right properties to match their lifestyle.

I enjoy ALL that the Durango area has to offer; tubing, hiking, biking, golfing, skiing & more!

My wife and I met Tierney, by chance, when we called to see a property in Durango. Eventually, we met her, and she listed a condo property we wanted to sell. She sold the property within a few months. Tierney is friendly, thoughtful, and considerate; she is guided by her client's best interests. I give her my best recommendation.

My husband and I met Tierney totally by accident.
Our goal was to purchase something for our sons to live in while they lived and worked in Durango.
Tierney took us to numerous listings and throughout the process, our needs, wishes and expectations changed.
Tierney was always very patient and answered any questions we had as first time buyers.
I don't know what we would have done if it had not been for the direction and expertise of Tierney.

Tierney is friendly and knowledgeable and she helped find the right place for us in Durango. Her expertise and the advice she gave us, is only surpassed by her hard work. We would often receive E mails late at night or early in the morning not to mention weekends. I'm not sure if she ever sleeps! She is a true professional who puts her clients best interest first and knows how to get the best deal. It is people like Tierney that make Durango the special place that it is. In 1999 we bought a vacation rental condo with Tienrey's help and this year we sold the same condo. Tienrey worked very hard for more than two years to sell this condo and did a great job for us. All turned out well, even during the Great Recession. She really knows and loves Durango.

We had a relator in Durango for two years and were getting so discouraged. Once we retained Tierney Skahill everything changed for us.

It only took four months for her to help us buy the property of our dreams. She was a skillful negotiator, and managed to assist us and the sellers with all of the particulars of buying and selling land in Durango. She knew what was expected of the buyer and the seller, and the financing involved as well. She made all the difference in the world for us, and made it possible for our dreams to come true.

We tried to sale our townhome in Durango Colorado for the past 4 years without any luck- trying several realtor and even by owner. Tierney was able to sale the townhome and close escrow in 18 days. All our dealings with her were extremely professional, and eventhough we live in California everything went so smoothly. I highly recommend her!
