Hello Jennifer,
It does depend on the community. I have a listing in Goodyear. Great property with a pool. If you would like to check it out, go to the website and pull up my listings. It will give you all the info on the HOA, and what it pays for. You may use this as a sample when comparing it to other "like" properties. I would love the opportunity to help you fing your new home.
Kind Regards,

Is Sunnyslope a bad neighborhood to buy in?

Nancy Parana answered:
Jennifer,
I hope to lessen some of the concerns that you may have regarding any area. "Bad neighborhood" is a subjective term. There are many things to consider when looking for a home. I always tell my clients to drive around to get a feel for the area in which they want to purchase. Only you can know where you are comfortable and feel safe. There are many revitalization areas going on arouond the valley, and Sunnyslope is one of them. Let me share a quick personal story. Eight years ago, I fell in love with a cute little, plain ranch style house on the wrong side of 15th aveune and McDowell. I bought that little house and have never looked back! Lots of people chuckled because I saw something that they didn't. Now I live in one of the most desired neighborhoods in all of downtown Phoenix. The median house in my "hood" (and I use the term "hood" in jest) goes for 325K.

Don't let anyone convince you where you may feel at home! Great question. Thank you for asking. If you would like me to show you around neighborhood and area, I would love to. There is always 2 sides of the story. I could show you the benefits of buying in a "revitalization" area. I sincerely believe that then you are not only a home owner, but a active participant in "Building Your Community."

Hello Bee,
It is your money, your checkbook, your decision. "Fair" to me means....that which is equally agreed upon by all parties of a transaction. "Location, Higest and Best Use, Economic Contribution," and so may other factors are needed to "fairly" answer the question. Real Estate is a business of negociating. Remember when working with a REALTOR, you are with a partner who, has taken as oath to have your "best interests" as the primary factor in that negociation towards, "fair."
Hope this helps.

help with buying home

Nancy Parana answered:
Hello Leslie,
Congrats on your first step toward home ownership! I am going to second what John wrote:

"One of them is "100 Questions Every First-Time Home Buyer Should Ask: With Answers from Top Brokers from Around the Country (100 Questions Every First-Time Home Buyer Should Ask) (Paperback)" by Ilyce R. Glink (Author). You can purchase this book at Amazon.com. Also, Home Buying for Dummies (Paperback) by Eric Tyson (Author), Ray Brown (Author) which can also be purchased through Amazon. "

Those are the two that I would also suggest. My other advice is to continue to be "proactive" not "reactive." Do not let your lack of experience or knowledge intimidate you. Have fun, and remember no question is a stupid question. Good Luck and Much Success.

Hello Tom,
If brand new condos and lofts are you....then my opinion is hands down the mack dab Downtown Phoenix or the Biltmore Area. Now, just to clarify, you did not mention price...right! I am part of the Urban Loft Tour for these locations, and have seen "incredible" properties in the last year.
If a single family home is you, then I would love you show my personal picks for the Squaw Peak area of town. Some of the properties are backed up to the Mountain Preserve...incredible!
Happy Hunting...Please contact me, if I can be of service.
Kind Regards,
