FHA rate 7.25%? Does that seem really high?

Merritt Noel answered:
Just an update. You should be looking at rates @ 6.00% or below with the FEDs announcement yesterday to buy MBS. If you have already locked ask your broker to renegotiate the lock. It is amazing what an impact the headline news had on mortgage yields = mortgage rates. If your broker is not able to offer you 6.00% or better I would look elsewhere. And don't think you are stuck with him/her as you can easily transfer a loan to another broker/banker that knows what they are doing.

Best of luck! However take advantage of these LOW low rates!
