The Kinslow Team Serving The Greater Denver Metro Area answered:
Hello,

My Son and I work together, we're closing a lot of homes each year and many offices have tried to recruit us. I've really looked into quite a few offices and met with a lot of Managing Brokers but so far nobody has convinced me that the grass is any greener anywhere else. A lot of agents come and go from our office, and a lot leave and then come back. I have signed into the MLS and pulled up some of the offices that I've considered moving to. I search Active, Pending and Sold transactions for their specific office, then I go into DORA and see how many agents work in that office, then I figure out how many transactions per agent it comes out to. On average most offices only do enough business for one or two transactions per year per agent (YIKES, that's scary, I feel like I am starving at 2 to 4 transactions per month). When you look closer you find that each office has a handful of agents that do a ton of business and then a lot of agents that don't do much at all. Our office has a lot of Top Producers and then there's the few people that only sell one or two homes per year but those are multi million dollar homes so they're doing a lot better finanacially then most agents. Our office does an amazing amount of training and meetings that keep you motivated. Now and then they set up a power group where you have to comit to the group, be there every week and do certain business building things, the last group had outrageous results. There's a leadrouter system, we closed three transactions from that this year but they were leads that we worked for over a year, we haven't gotten any leads this year at all. Our office supposedly gets more inbound relocations then any other office but again I have never been given one, although I have brought a couple in and had to pay for the pleasure of bringing them in. Like most offices the relos go to a small select group of people. When you transfer from company to company that's sometimes a little bonus they give you but don't expect more then one. The other Managing Brokers that we have interviewed with have told us that we would keep a lot more of our commissions but when we sit down and talk with them, none of them did any better then what we're doing right now. I would recommend spending time in offices and work rooms where there's a lot of high energy people, there's something about being around the right people that gets you moving. Also you can sign up for floor time, being in such a huge office, with a big name and big advertising budget we do get some good floor calls.

I hope this is helpful and if you come to our office stop by and say Hello. I like your question and look forward to reading responses from other agents, maybe there is an office out there that is better.

Have a Great Realtor Day!
