Dallas has a number of wonderful areas near restaurants. The Knox/Henderson area, West Village, Lower Greenville, Addison just to name a few. Unfortunately, most of them are not going to have good schools if your child is school age. The price/sq ft is going to depend on the area you choose as well as how updated the older home is as well as the price point you are interested in. Your best bet is to call an agent in the area and have an indepth conversation about what is important to you and your price range. Regardless of the part of town, I know you will love Dallas!
