You can pretty much guarantee that there may have been a death in an 1800s home, whether old age, sickness or childbirth. It shouldn't be looked upon as a negative but as the reality of life in that century. The wonderful thing about historic properties is that generations of family called these houses home. They lived, celebrated the joy and sorrows of life, and died. Imagine standing in the front yard and closing your eyes and imagining what life was like when the house was home to it's first family. And here you are, thinking of continuing the legacy 134 years later.
