This California native likes nothing better than to assist people in buying and selling their property. The San Francisco Peninsula is one of the nicest places on this earth and we are so lucky to live here! That's why I like to share this devotion to my area with others. I live and work on the Peninsula. Real Estate is an exciting arena for us with a healthy economy and vibrant real estate market. I'd like to help you in your next real estate transaction.
Testimonials
"With such a fast pace life style and the demands for instant gratification, it is too easy to forget that we can't make this happen without your support. But I just want to drop you both a quick note and send you our thoughts of appreciation."
Jim and Nenita Nguyen Thu Jun 5
"Thank you so much for all the amazing help in getting us here. It was wonderful to work with both of you."
Tracy and Aaron Stettner Thu Jun 5
"Lenore spent hundreds of hours with us searching for a home to purchase in the San Francisco Bay Area. We were extremely pleased with the results. After months of searching (both online and personal visits), we found our desired home. She is very personable and has high integrity."
Craig and Sandy Alexander Thu Jun 5
"We moved to the Bay Area in March, 2005 from Pasadena, California. In searching for our new home, our first priority was to find a professional realtor who knows the area well and at the same time cognizant of our needs and not simply to make a sale. Using the internet, we solicited profiles of realtors that we can work with comfortably. The husband and wife team of Alex and Lenore Wilkas was our clear choice. In the six months that we searched for our ideal house, Lenore and Alex were with us all the time patiently showing a range of properties that fit our criteria. Since we were still living in Pasadena while house hunting, they sent us hundreds of digital photos of potential properties that would appeal to us. They were our eyes and ears in the Bay Area. This saved us a number of back and forth trips. Our first offer fell through. Likewise with the second offer. Finally, we found our ideal house. Thanks to the pricing strategy recommended by Lenore and Alex, given the market condition, and property location"
Angel And Estela Santa Maria Thu Jun 5
"Lenore and Alex have been absolutely wonderful. They clearly understand the emotional and logistical aspects of home buying from the buyer's perspective and they are the generous and warm people you want to help you negotiate the process. They also have the experience of seasoned realtors, homeowners, and local residents to help even someone new to the area and homeownership navigate the waters. Lastly they understand what is a very competitive and now fluid market well enough to help their clients make the most of their investment. And, in such a competitive market, what's better than one great realtor on your side? Of course, two great realtors committed to each other and to you."
The Ambroses Thu Jun 5
"Having lived in the South Bay, I was not new to the Bay Area but the Peninsula needed some getting to know. Lenore and Alex very quickly got me educated because of the breadth of their knowledge of the area. They were open to my opinions and gave me valuable guidance that got me my home with which I am extremely happy."

Lenore Wilkas answered:
Prices in Laurie Meadows depends on location and square footage. A small 3 bedroom 2 bath home is in the mid-$800's. A larger home is upwards of a $1M. Laurie Meadows is a great area to raise a family with flat streets that don't have much traffic on them. There's a huge park nearby, too. - Fri Jul 11 2008, 14:54

The best ROI's are: Landscaping. Refinishing your hardwood floors or if you have carpets, cleaning them or replacing them. Fresh paint throughout your house. Ktchens that sparkle with new appliances and you can buy packages (Ref., stove, DW) at Lowes or Home Depot for around $4000. Lighing!
Look at your bathrooms and decide from a buyer's perspective, if you need to put in a new sink or toilet, or floor.

On the west coast a Stager is manditory and then listen to everything they say. They may bring in things or move your things around to make your house look better. In fact, talk to a stager before you begin anything in preparation to selling. - Wed Mar 12 2008, 14:45
Lenore Wilkas answered:
There aren't deals on the west side of El Camino in San Mateo. There aren't enough houses for sale to allow for a softening of the market on the west side. The deals you're looking for are in Shoreview and that area east of 101.

As for Burlingame. Forget it. There isn't a bad part of Burlingame. There are some houses overpriced and sitting, but the west side of Burlingame, Easton Edition, sells for close to asking and that's close to $2 million right now.

If you are trying to time the bottom of the market, you can't. It's pure luck to hit the bottom in a real estate market. Around the country the market is warming up and it will here, too, if we ever see more houses for sale. Look for a house you like in the area you want to live in, and then make an offer. See what happens then. - Wed Mar 12 2008, 14:38

Wow there are a number of good pest inspection companies. A&R Termite, JK Control, and Premier Termite are all first rate. - Mon Mar 10 2008, 14:58

Are there any "old town" areas in San Mateo?

Lenore Wilkas answered:
There is a delightful area north of downtown San Mateo, and within walking distance of downtown Burlingame, with older houses (1930's and 1940's). San Mateo and Burlingame aren't that old -- Burlingame is celebrating its Centennial this year. - Mon Mar 10 2008, 14:56
