Dear Katrina,
My advise to you is to find a Top Producer who needs a licensed assistant. I started out in the business as a receptionist in a large office, taking care of agent marketing and bookkeeping. I then got my license and worked for several top agents who were kind enough to show me the ropes, teach me how to fill out a Purchase & Sale Agreement correctly, show property, negotiate sales, marketing and transaction coordination, There are so many things that they just don't teach you in real estate school. The beauty of being an assistant is the agent usually will pay you a salary and being licensed you can still collect commissions, so you should be able to start making money immediately! I now own my own company and am the Designated Broker. Good luck to you! You have the opportunity to make as much money as you want with a little hard work and persistance. - Fri Aug 8 2008, 13:41
