Public Schools in Boca Raton have an excellent rating - A or A+. There is also quite a selection of religious and private schools available. - Mon Apr 23 2007, 15:51
It would be pretty tough to live in Boca Raton without access to a car. Public transportation is primarily limited to north and south buses on Federal Highway (US1). Some of the retirement communities offer shuttle service to their residents for transportation to shopping areas, etc. Bicycles are fine in the neighborhoods, but to really get around town you need a car. - Mon Apr 23 2007, 15:51
During 'rush hours' the north/south traffic seems to run smoothly. It is the east/west that snarls a bit. Sometimes, in season, it just seems like the traffic will never end! Of course, the worst drivers from all over the world visit Boca Raton on vacation - and there is no telling what they are going to do or where they are going! We locals, love when season winds down and the city is ours again! - Mon Apr 23 2007, 15:51
It is a great city for families with children. The schools are terrific. There are all kinds of nature and after school type programs at the various parks - Gumbo Limbo, Sugar Sand, etc. It is the perfect community for family activities such as boating, tennis, golf, etc. - Mon Apr 23 2007, 15:51
Unfortunately, we live in a world where no community is immune to crime. That said, gated communities and vigilant police and private security companies work very hard to keep petty crime to a minimum. I live in the Boca Del Mar area and join many residents who walk or jog early in the morning or in the evening, without incident. It is our own personal responsibility to be aware of our surroundings and not do things that invite crime. - Mon Apr 23 2007, 15:51
