In Georgia you can. This would also have to be a consideration in your errors and ommissions insurance companies requirements. Several appraisers in my local market are now doing BPO's. Why you would want to do a lower paying BPO vs adding appraisal cleints is beyond me. I have a real estate license, but I would not be excited in listing $2000 properties for sale. I do BPO only for existing REO companies or companies that first list their REO properties, then I expand both my services for BPOs and service area for listings. With a glut of agents accepting orders for BPO's thinking that they are eventually getting an REO listing is beyond me. Too, some REO companies will specifically exclude you from listing their properties if you have done the BPO. I do not do BPO's for those companies for obvious reasons. - Tue Jun 30 2009, 13:00
