what is an assignment of mortgage?

Laurie Allan answered:
Desiree
It depends on who the mortage was assigned to. I would certainly double check because you do not want to be paying rent to someone who is not the owner or who will be losing the house.

Lenders, or holders of mortgages or deeds of trust, often assign mortgages or deeds of trust to other lenders, or third parties. When this is done, the assignee (person who received the assignment) steps into the place of the original lender or assignor. http://www.uslegalforms.com - Thu Jan 29 2009, 07:47
