"My husband and I had been trying to sell our home ourselves for several months. We were hoping that we could sell our home ourselves as we had made arrangements with our neighbor to buy her home. My husband put up a sign and I joined one of the “For Sale by Owner” websites. We did everything they suggested but only had one call. We then found out about Ed Finlans “For Sale by Owner First Aid Kit”. We instituted the suggestions in the kit and took Ed up on his offer to use his 800 number. He did not pressure us to sell our home through him, he just offered help. The interest level went up and we did get several showings but we needed to get our home sold quickly since our agreement with our neighbor would expire in about 60 days. We decided to list with Ed hoping he could get the home sold even in the slow market. We listed the home on a Saturday and on Monday we had an offer for over the listing price! We closed escrow well within the time our neighbor gave us to sell our home. Ed kept us in the loop through the entire process. I would recommend Ed to anyone wanting to sell their home."

"We tried to sell our home ourselves for several months. We had a sign in the yard and flyers. We had it listed on several of the “For Sale by Owner” type websites as well as Craig’s List and Zillow.com. We had a couple people show interest and some came and looked at the house but no one made an offer. After our initial contact with Ed, we used several of his strategies and ideas he had suggested. He never tried to hard sell us and only offered to help in any way he could. We were going to try the 800 number Ed offers but with work, kids and just life we never got around to it. We were having a home built in Idaho and it was getting time to move. We were concerned about being able to sell our home with the market being as slow as it has been.We contacted Ed and listed our home for sale with him. Within 2 weeks we had a full price offer. Ed oversaw the whole closing process and we closed as scheduled with no setbacks. He kept us informed and communicated with us every step of the process. We are very happy with our decision to list our home with Ed Finlan and John L. Scott Real Estate and would do it again as well as recommend him to family and friends."

"My wife and I had built our home with the idea that we would be there for some time. We were going to sell and live in our motor home and travel but due to some health issues we could not do that anymore. The home we built turned out to be a bit small for our needs so we listed it for sale with the agent that we bought the property from. After about 6 months of little to no activity we cancelled the listing, not knowing what we were going to do. We heard about Ed Finlan and were very intrigued by the way he did things; he seemed a lot different than the other agents we spoke to. We had Ed over to the house and he explained to us what he thought the problem was (besides the price being too high). We had talked to him about doing his FSBO program but at our age we didn’t want the hassle. Ed didn’t pressure us to list with him but he did stay in touch and we did end up listing with him. He warned us that since the home had already been on the market it might take a bit but within 90 days we had an offer and then countered and settled within 99% of our list price. Ed handled the entire process and he also helped us find a new home. I have to give him credit as my wife and I were sort of picky and we must have looked at 20 homes. He never got mad or frustrated and was always professional and courteous, in fact my wife and I have pretty much adopted him as a new son! I tell anyone that will listen about Ed and John L Scott."

"I really loved my house but when I got transferred to Grays Harbor we had to sell. The first agent we had convinced us that we should do all this work to the house before we sold it. Well, needless to say, it didn’t make our house sell and we had spent all that money doing the things she told us would sell the house. We then tried an agent who was a friend’s relative but all he did was put up a sign and wait, and wait and wait. Once he was out of the picture, we contacted Ed Finlan. We had heard he sells homes that other agents can’t get sold. It was a bit of an eye opener as far as what Ed said our home would sell for but the other agents obviously didn’t know the market like Ed appeared to. It was interesting to watch as Ed got the home on the market and the frenzy of activity that followed. We received 2 offers within 5 weeks of being on the market with Ed. We chose the offer that worked best for us after Ed explained the subtle differences of the 2 offers to us. Ed kept us in the loop through the entire process. We signed the final papers within 2 months of listing the home with Ed. I wish I would have known about him from the get go. I would recommend Ed to anyone wanting to sell their home."

"My wife and I got divorced and neither wanted or could afford to live in the house. We had the home for sale with 2 other agents and barely had any showings and had no offers. I even tried to sell the home myself but didn’t have any luck with that either. I was about to give up when I heard about Ed Finlan. I talked with Ed and he explained to me what wasn’t being done to get my home sold. He also had a plan to get my home sold that he shared with me. I couldn’t believe the other agents didn’t have a plan or at least didn’t spell it out for me like Ed did and they certainly didn’t do all the things he did to get the home sold. It did take several months to sell the home but Ed warned me that since my home had been on the market previously, that it might take a while. Ed always answered his phone and emails and was in constant communication with me. I have already recommended Ed to friends and family."
