The city of Milton and Alpharetta offer a wonderful lifestyle with large lots and tracks of land with many horse properties scattered throughout. Milton High School and the schools feeding it are some of the best in the state. That being said, the commute to Emory can be a pain depending on what time your husband goes into the office. If it's at off times he is looking at about 40 minutes. In peak times this could be an hour plus depending on how far out in Milton you are. There are dozens of great neighborhoods throughout the area and also homes that are not in neighborhoods. It really depends on what you are looking for.
You may want to consider Alpharetta High School as well. Some of the neighborhoods that feed is school are a little closer to GA 400. Windward is one of the big communities in this district.
