About Me
Until she was 11 years old, Tara and her mother would move to a new place once or twice a year. A map, a blindfold, and a random pick were all that determined their next destination. This experience taught Tara how to adapt quickly, meet new people and be open to new experience. Then they found Sonoma County. The unsurpassed beauty, temperate climate, and home-town feel is what first attracted her to the area. The people, the lifestyle, and making her dreams come true are what made her stay. Tara wants to make your dreams come true in Sonoma County, the place she also calls home.

Tara has tenaciously held on through the ups and downs of the real estate market, and is knowledgable in Short Sales, Foreclosures, and REO's, and has worked with many homebuyers and homesellers to help them navigate the tricky waters of today's market. And while Tara enjoys working with clients in every price range, a passion for architecture, history, and beauty, make Luxury Homes and Estates Tara’s specialty. An ability to market luxury homes nationally, as well as internationally and a worldwide referral network make Tara’s marketing plan and home search ability unparalleled. Partnering with Coldwell Banker’s Previews International Program, which is experienced in representing celebrities, dignitaries, and affluent buyers around the globe, is what allows Tara to offer superior service. Attention to detail and a dedication to excellence make Tara the right agent to help you buy or sell your luxury home.

While Tara feels it is still important to implement traditional methods, taking advantage of technology is not only critical, but also the fun part of marketing your home. “I’m one of those people who loves to fiddle with gadgets,” she says, “and I can usually learn all about it within an hour or two.” An example of this is the fully interactive CD ROM that Tara has developed to walk you through the process of buying or selling a home, so you know what to expect. To further assist you, she provides state of the art tools and websites that give you the satisfaction of staying up-to-date (any day or hour!) on all aspects of your transaction. Tara also uses cutting edge methods, by making full use of tools such as Virtual Tours, Podcasting, multiple digital property photos, and more.

Tara serves all of Sonoma County including Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Windsor, Sebastopol, Sonoma and Cloverdale. Partnering with real estate’s largest corporation, Tara is able to provide relocation assistance in town, and throughout the world. With affiliations to the National, California, and North Bay Association of Realtors, and a network of professionals that encompass her many designations, Tara will patiently guide you in one of the biggest decisions of your life. With a no-pressure, customer service attitude, she is committed to making your real estate experience not only memorable, but admirable. Her ability to provide solid counsel is what keeps Tara’s clients coming back, and gives them the confidence to refer her to their friends and family. Her expertise in her field and her love of Sonoma County guarantee your satisfaction.

Tara Polley answered:
Hi Jeremy,
You've gotten great advice here, the only thing I didn't see mentioned is the difference between a short sale and a forclosure, and how that affects the process. With a foreclosure, the homeowner is no longer involved, and the bank owns the house outright. With a short sale, the owner is still involved, and their initial approval on your offer is needed. Your offer then gets passed along to the bank, (the first, and possibly a second or third) for further approval. With short sales and foreclosures on the rise, the trend that is emerging, is that short sales are being put on the back burner by banks, as they are more concerned with getting foreclosures off their hands, and short sales are taking even longer. You may be better off to focus on foreclosures first, as you will get a faster response, and possibly be able to take ownership of the home much quicker. Good Luck! - Wed Jun 4 2008, 09:51

Certifications & Awards
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS
Many people are unsure of the difference between a “Real Estate Agent” and a “Realtor®”. A real estate agent is a REALTOR® when he or she becomes a member of the National Association of Realtors®, and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics. The National Association of Realtors® provides a facility for professional development, research and exchange of information among its members. I am also a member of the California Association of Realtors, and the North Bay Association of Realtors, both of which are sub-agencies for the NAR.

ACCREDITED BUYERS REPRESENTATIVE (ABR)
The Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) designation is the benchmark of excellence in buyer representation. This coveted designation is awarded by the Real Estate Buyers Agent Council (REBAC), an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors®, to real estate practitioners who meet the specified educational and practical experience criteria.

GRADUATE, REALTOR INSTITUTE (GRI)
The GRI designation is one of the most recognized designations in the real estate industry. Graduates of the Realtor Institute obtain thorough and grueling education for all aspects of real estate. By completing the GRI series, I have received 92 hours of live class continuing education credit, including Fair Housing, 1031 exchanges and Investment Property Analysis, Agency Relationships, Disclosure, Ethics, Technology Applications, Environmental Concerns, Construction Overview, Financing and more! The GRI symbol is recognized nationwide, and will also provide expanded networking opportunities to let even more people know your home is on the market!

PREVIEWS PROPERTY SPECIALIST
The Previews Property Specialist designation was established to define the highest of professional competency standards within the Real Estate industry, and to recognize the level of experience and exemplary quality of service provided to clients. By earning this designation, I have joined an elite group of Sales Associates who represent the top 6% of Real Estate professionals nationwide. I have been trained to meet the discerning tastes of buyers and sellers who want effective marketing strategy, in-depth information and confidentiality in the luxury home market.

INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENTS CIRCLE, DIAMOND SOCIETY, STERLING SOCIETY
Over the years, I have earned several levels of awards for customer service, and my ability to follow through on a transaction, including the company's International Presidents Circle, a prestigious honor bestowed upon the top 9% of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage sales associates worldwide. As a member of the company's International Presidents Circle, I have attended the company's Elite Retreat, a three-day conference exclusively for the company's top producing sales associates held in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This award can only be earned by maintaining a high level of success within the real estate industry. Additionally, out of the 250 agents in our Santa Rosa office, I was ranked #10 for individual agents in production and sales, and stay consistently within the Top 40.
Interests
Outside of Real Estate, Family and Community are the two most important aspects of my life. I stay involved in activities with my children, Alyssa and Tyler, and do as much volunteer work as I can. I serve on the advisory board for Community Support Network, a nonprofit organization directed toward support to Sonoma County's homeless and mentally ill, and I serve on the Cloverdale Youth Soccer Board of Directors. Alyssa will be a Junior in high school this coming fall, and is involved in Volleyball, Softball, and Basketball, along with attending leadership conferences, and was just invited to attend the next Presidential Inauguration! Tyler is going into Third Grade, and loves soccer, softball and football. When I'm not with my kids, I also enjoy wine tasting, hiking at Spring Lake, and I have a passion for watching Football. :)
