I would suggest you take some time to drive through or even park outside a foreclosure that you may be interested in. Before jumping into an offer on a bank owned property it is wise to investigate the neighborhoods as they are often not the best. It is always good to get property at a discount just make sure that you are not putting yourself in a position that may subject you to the same fate as the previous owner.
