"I've lived in Mill Valley for close to fifteen years and observed her name on Sale& Sold signs again and again. When I first considered selling my home, I called her. She responded promptly with a well crafted portfolio profiling recent sales in the immediate area, comps in Mill Valley and a professional outline of how she and Pacific Union work with their clients.
Several years later when I decided to sell my home I called Cathy out of the blue. I was pleasantly surprised that she remembered me and had in the time between my call and our meeting organized an up to date brief that helped get the process launched. We inspected my home together, collaborating on what needed to be addressed in terms of repairs, staging and overall market strategy. I was in a huge rush once I made my decision and Cathy was there with a team of people to help get the many tasks completed (window washers, house cleaners, dump guys, painter, repair men, etc). She even replaced the flowers by the front door when I was too busy to get it handled myself.
The Broker's open house attracted over 70 agents and the first open house had prospective buyers parked up and down the street. Several promising offers came in over the first week. We navigated through a series of five offers at or above asking. She brilliantly nailed the correct price; given this difficult market, I was thrilled when we negotiated a final price well over asking.
While the process of preparing and selling my house was a difficult and at times an ordeal, Cathy's sense of humor, her genuine compassion and warmth made some of the most challenging moments manageable. I always felt that she had my best interest at heart. Her high ethical standards and consistent commitment to get things handled expeditiously gave me tremendous confidence in her and Pacific Union-- So much so, that I went on to purchase another home with her. She functions as well as an agent for the buyer as she does as an agent for the seller.
One of the things I value most about Cathy is her ability to listen & execute. She educated me about the process and kept me laughing through much of the insanity. She's down to earth and wonderfully real; always ready with emotional support and well connected to other real estate & mortgage professionals. I started out with just an agent, backed by a team of professionals and landed up with a friend."

"" If you are looking for a broker we would strongly recommend Cathy Youngling, for a number of strong personal reasons (which is really the only way you can make this decision).
1: She isn'?t like most of the plastic, artificial, people who inevitably act as brokers in Marin. She's in the service, not the ego business.
2: We had very specific requirements for what we were looking for. In fact we looked for over two years at what was out there as we weren't in a hurry etc. Throughout our slow and choosy search, Cathy continued to bring us places that were relevant and interesting. She really knows the area and value of houses within the market (often before they come onto the market).
3: When we finally found our current house, Cathy was great at discussing our strategy, process and approach, which was both successful and good value.
4: Throughout the buying process, I was very busy. Cathy managed much of the legwork for us, really keeping the paperwork down to a minimum and working around our schedules, not hers!
5: Finally, Cathy demonstrated great initiative. At one point, early in the process we had seen a house that we liked, but had been taken off the market, before we had even talked to Cathy. After mentioning this, Cathy decided to go and talk to them about it. Although ultimately, they chose not to sell it, Cathy's energy and perseverance was great.
Obviously you will pick the broker that's right for you, but Cathy was fantastic for us and we would strongly recommend her and will definitely work with her next time we look to move!"
