I'm going to be a contrarian. I know this is an old question but for any readers out there I think I need to answer it. So many people tend to say that if you have a family you need to live "downvalley." I disagree. I live in the Matterhorn neighborhood of West Vail and I have a six year old. It is a great place to live as a family. Our public elementary school is one of the best in Colorado. Each morning at the school bus stop there are between 5 and 10 kids. It is a real community. The parks are second to none. And the free bus makes parking your car and getting around very easy.
Sure you can get "more" house down valley. But no where but Vail gives you the amenities of living right in the best ski town in the US. - Tue Dec 23 2008, 11:52
