Colorado Springs offers excellent schools in every neighborhood. You have received some great advise on D12, but I just wanted to share an additional bit of information. I am a parent of three children who have attended school in Cheyenne Mountain School District 12. It is a wonderful district that is extremely welcoming to Military Families such as yours. While there are several homes in the area that drive the average price point of homes in this area up, there are great subdivisions within the district boundaries that offer affordable homes. School District 12 also offers school choice to families on a space available basis. They are currently accepting enrollment applications from students who live outside of the School District's boundaries. This is always done on a space available basis, but there are current openings at all levels, Elementary Schools (K-6), Junior High School (7-8), and High School 9-12.
We are a School District extremely proud of our Students. Many children are involved in Community Service, Athletics, and Arts and Science Activities. Regardless of finding a home, if you need some general answers on the community, please feel free to contact me. Good Luck with your home search.
