Welcome! My daughter is at DU and most of the family went as well! Congratulations! I ave been in this area CO since 1979 and here are my recomendations....My family and I currently live in Winter Park ( a ski resort near ) but I raised the kids in Evergreen!!! A wonderful mountain community, beautiful surroundings, great schools and a real sweet commute to DU. I have a good friend who is a professor at DU and she lives in that area. I know the Evergreen, Conifer, Genesee and surrounding areas very well and am happy to share some great spots to look depending on the children's ages....I am a realtor in WP but know many people in the business. Hi There! first of all WHY Breck? I am a investor, own several properties and have friends who do the same...all of us realtors. Those in summit county are not seeing the appreciation and are bearing the grunt of the overbuilt status in condos/townhomes. There are I am sure some beautiful homes in the range of $2M but quite frankly, if you are looking to get into an area with a lot more for your money, (investment potential and price per sq. ft) you should be looking in Winter Park! Much better values, closer proximity to some great places (Steamboat, Denver, Rky Mtn. National forest, etc. etc.).
