I see you're from Bucks County, PA. That's a nice part of the country. I grew up in Yardley, PA.
I think it's important to realize that every part of the U.S. is different. We have not experienced the same problems that other parts of the country have experienced. We didn't have a big run up in values, our lenders have tended to be pretty conservative, and what I tell my clients is that life goes on. It's not necessarily a bad time to sell a house here. We are selling homes in Baton Rouge every day. It's actually a great time to move up. And, depending upon individual circumstances, selling a home may be just the right thing to do.
Hannah, I would contact a local agent who can help you and tell you what's happening in Shreveport. I'm in Baton Rouge, and Shreveport is not my market. But, I can refer you to someone if you need a hand.
