About Me

Julie has earned the Graduate, REALTOR® Institute designation (GRI). According to the National Association of Realtors she is one of approximately 18% of Real Estate Agents having this designation. The GRI designation means that she has education beyond what is required. This education includes Construction, Appraisal, Inspections, Business Planning, Technology, Ethics, Investment, Taxation and Financial Planning.

Her real estate experiences started when she bought her first home at 19 years old. After that she purchased foreclosed townhomes and update them. She has been licensed in Real Estate since 1990. In 1999 she purchased a single family home in Plymouth where she has been able to provide affordable housing to single females.

Julie has also sold real estate in Florida where she spent time relaxing by watching the sunset on Fort Myers Beach and attending Twin’s baseball games during spring training.

She was a sheet metal worker for about 22 years and worked on commercial construction projects in the Twin Cities. Her education extends from taking night school classes for about 4 years in Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning and has taken courses in the field of Construction Management.

It would be wise for your sister to get prequalified through a lender first. The next step would be to look at a few properties in that price range and decide where you want to focus and then ask to see some properties in the areas that you or your sister and her husband enjoy. - Thu May 8 2008, 11:27

I have personally bought REO's and HUD properties in the past. It would be my suggestion that if you are interested in REO's, know that there could be hidden expenses after purchase that you are unaware of now. Try not to be bidding on REO's out of emotions. When making an offer you are generally not dealing with the emotions of an individual seller either. Make it a business decision - it will be one of the biggest decisions in a lifetime. Don't be too anxious and make sure you can afford the property and have the ability to fix the problems you find or have some finances set aside for your updates. - Thu May 8 2008, 11:19
