Ms. Ozman,

In Miami, there are some great areas to raise a family. Since I was born and raised here myself, I would suggest Coral Gables or South Miami/Pinecrest because of their clean and safe environments.

Coral Gables can also offer a successful space for a future restaurant in its business district that often bustles at peak times during the lunch and dinner hours. I was raised in the Gables, and enjoyed very much my surroundings of quiet pedestrian friendly streets and beautiful homes that I credit to the city’s continued upkeep.

As for South Miami and Pinecrest areas, they boast some of the best schools in the state as well as great residential surroundings. On the commercial side, South Miami has an area of delicious restaurants and nice boutiques, which will welcome new establishments.

The areas I mentioned about an easy 20 minute ride to Miami Beach on the expressway. They are very central locations in the heart of Miami.

how do you see city of miami for family living?

Lyanne M Roger answered:
As a native of Miami, I think it’s a great place for family living. Along with beautiful beaches and lively nightlife, Miami offers families A+ schools, great outdoor activities, and a diverse culture. Best of all, there are several areas that can suit each family’s personality and needs.

For example, I was raised in Coral Gables. It’s a beautiful city perfect for the family who appreciates a clean and safe environment. Coral Gables is centrally located and sits just 15 minutes away from Coconut Grove, South Miami/Pinecrest, and Downtown.

The cities of Pinecrest and South Miami boast some of the best schools in the state. Most streets are quiet and many parks are easily accessible.

Coconut Grove is unique for its lush green landscapes and water views. Being outdoor is part of the lifestyle of the Grove.

As its own island, Key Biscayne is one of the smaller communities but it includes beaches, a state park, restaurants and shopping. And all are walking distance from your home.

I enjoyed very much growing up in Miami. There is always something for everyone here. I understand learning about each neighborhood is important for choosing the right one for your family. For more information on any of the cities I mentioned feel free to contact me. - Sat Apr 26 2008, 05:52
