Dan had some great ideas, and I would just suggest strongly speaking with a good loan officer before you go the credit couseling route. Some credit counseling programs are seen by the credit bureaus as tantamount to BK, and it can really push your scores lower, especially those that promise to get your debt canceled or that promise to lower your rates on your present cards. As with most things, buyer beware! I hope these comments help, Jim.
