Larchmont is a great community and wonderful place to raise a family.
This village is a square of a mail and almost every house is a walking distance to the station and FA school. The ideal location for you would be the center part of the village between Palmer Ave and Boston Post Rd with five minutes of a healthy walk to the train and ten minutes walk to school. My office is located in the heart of the village and I do have great knowledge of the market.
Prudential also have great relocation department and if your company offers relocation services I can send you contact information as soon as possible.
Best of luck to you and your family
Dear Mr. Huber
Larchmont and Mamaroneck are great family oriented communities with more of an urban than suburban feel. Being European myself (grow up in Belgrade) I really enjoy living in this area.
I would also suggest Rye, one of the Sound Shore villages, home of quite few German/ Austrian families in Westchester. Great Parks, Beach and YMCA I in the centre of the village.

You have already received the best answer for your question so I would not try to compete with Zack since I am realtor and Zack is not.
Good school district is one that you are feeling comfortable with and is a good match for your children.
Lower Westchester offer a lot in terms of public schools, recreation activities and it is generally considered suburban area with city/cosmopolitan feel.
Commute time to NYC is great with enough express trains in morning and afternoon rush hours.
In Sound shore (costal) area of Westchester I would recommend Rye, Mamaroneck, Larchmont villages with a lot to offer for you and your kids without changing your budget.
Rye Brook is another option for you and you can definitely get more for you budget in terms of space and land without any compromise on schools.
