Sergeant Bluff, Ia is like 5 miles south of Sioux City and has the best schools and neighborhood in the area, hands down. But if your heart's set on Sioux City - avoid anything west of Hamilton blvd - unless you go north of 28th street. In fact, avoid anything in the city between 28th street to the north and transit avenue to the south. South of Transit / Morningside Ave clear to Sgt Bluff is all very nice.
