Sarasota and the surrounding towns, have many A rated schools, public and private. There are more private schools in the western parts of town because the areas closest to the beaches were developed first. However, as time goes on, more and more private schools are moving east along with the new home developments.
The Florida colleges are excellent too and are rated highly. - Sat Jun 16 2007, 18:10

I only have one word for Sarasota - Paradise! Great restaurants, great theatre, great white sandy beaches, great shops, great entertainment indoors and out! If you have a chance to live here, you'll never have an idle moment - there's always something to do. - Sat Jun 16 2007, 18:01

I've lived in the Sarasota area for 5 years. There are a few bad areas but I just don't go there! Downtown is being developed as a walking city - I've always felt safe walking downtown at night. I think you'd love Sarasota - it's fabulous! There are some great buys on downtown condos where you can walk to great restaurants, the theatre, the shops, etc. - Sat Jun 16 2007, 17:58

There are many areas in Sarasota for families. Find a community with a community pool and some social groups so you have the opportunity to easily meet your neighbors. A realtor can help you locate the perfect community for your family. - Sat Jun 16 2007, 17:52
