Hello,
I am a resident in NE St. Petersburg and my children happen to go to school in SE St. Petersburg. We had also looked at the SE before settling in the Old NE. I would vote hands down for the Old NE. The parks, events and shopping you can walk to is outstanding. We are close to the Interstate for commuting and you do not drive though areas that are less than desirable to get home. This is just one persons opinion. At the moment there are many homes available so you should be able to find a good buy no matter where you select your home.
