We used to live in Charlotte County and spent some time in Naples. My impression is that it would not be a child-friendly place. I say this because it is somewhat "exclusive" and is made up of higher-income households. Nothing wrong with money, but generally this means you're living among retirees or singles.
I remember reading a news article about Naples having trouble recruiting and keeping good teachers, because most teachers cannot afford to live there or commute in.
Speaking from experience, living in a retiree community really stinks if you have children. Kids need other kids in the neighborhood to feel at home - and retirees often have little tolerance for children - even good ones. - Tue May 20 2008, 11:13
