You "experts" are kidding right? This person may have options. I won't pretend to know what to advise her on her situation with no more information then she has given but your reassurances that everything is fine is out and outright lying. I'm no expert but I do follow the financial affairs going on in this country. The dollar is at it's lowest levels, the debt of this country is so great we can't make the interest payments, and if you were getting real information you would know that the government is discussing a bailout of Fannie and Freddie because they do have reserves, but not nearly enough. Why would such a bailout by the government be being discussed if they were "just fine". As one other reader commented. No matter what standard of accounting is applied they are still in bad shape. The recession is coming... but I would say the recession started about a year ago and we're no where near the bottom. Let's all hope and pray that the financials are wrong or that the "magic bullet" will be found but I wouldn't bet MY money on that. Let's just stop the fairy tales shall we?
One thing Jed had right .. the country is scared but IMHO not half as much as they should be. - Thu Aug 7 2008, 17:00
