Are there any guarded gate communities in Eureka?

Halonet answered:
There is one in Cutten, CA but it is for seniors. It has an automatic opener. The other is in Fortuna. Generally, we don't need gated communities. I live in Lundbar Hills and it is the BEST place to live--much better than senior community. It has one road in and out. The best of the best live there and it is SAFE, SAFE, SAFE. Check it out on Zillow.com. It is Eureka's best kept secret and only one block from the Municipal Golf Course. It is close to everything. Home prices start in the mid-$350K. - Thu Jul 16 2009, 16:31

The best place to live in Eureka where there is virtually NO crime, is a great place to live and walk, one block to the Golf Course, close to transportation and just on the outskirts of the city is the best kept secret of Lundbar Hills. I live there. It is the most awesome place I've ever lived. The neighbors frequently walk the neighborhoods and are very friendly. Most doctors, lawyers, city politicians and other professionals live in that neighborhood. Check it out on zillow.com. My house is listed there as a make me move.

There is only one street in and out. The police are there in a heartbeat because of the high profile neighbors. it is upper middle to upper income area. Home prices start in the mid $300K.

As far as Arcata, it is worse than Eureka. The people there are proud of their homeless transients and actually encourage them to sleep in their back yards and don't mind that they defecate on the streets. It's a college town. It is everything you might expect it to be plus an army of young transient drugged out people who live in the woods because they don't want to work. - Thu Jul 16 2009, 16:28
