I strongly disagree with "Rob". Eureka has much less crime than Arcata & McKinleyville. There are a few really beautiful neighborhoods in Eureka, one being Lundbar Hills by the Eureka Golf Course. It is a very safe, family friendly neighborhood where everyone takes pride in their homes. There is pretty much "zero" crime up there as there is only one road in/out of the area. There are homeless people in Eureka, where aren't they, but they are usually in the downtown area which isn't near the Eureka Golf Course. Lundbar Hills is surrounded with trees, very private and away from the main road but close to shopping. I am envious of anyone who lives up there, it seems to be such a friendly neighborhood. I have a friend who lives up there and whenever I drive to her house people always wave to me. - Tue Oct 6 2009, 15:59
