I own a co-op in Yonkers. I am thinking about doing major remodeling and needed a floor plan. The current management company did not have any, probably because they are not the original management company. I asked the super and he was able to come up with an original floor plan (the building was built in 1950) of the entire floor but it works for me as it shows the individual units and all the measurements I need.
If you are thinking about buying I would suggest you have the real estate agent see if the management company has them. If the complex has an office see if the super can help you.
Also, I've heard that many people get a floor plan on closing. - Fri Aug 29 2008, 11:21
Hi I'm new to this site but I hope I can answer. I live in Yonkers in but in Bronxville PO, right near the Fleetwood Metro North Station. I've been here nearly 15 years. I can tell you from what I've seen in that time that it depends on exactly where in Mt. Vernon you are. Most people in Fleetwood for example send their children to public schools through elementary then for junior and senior high send them to private schools either in Westchester or in the Bronx. The early trains are packed with students from Fordham Prep, Cardinal Hayes, etc. I would say check to make sure before you buy which elementary school your kids would be going to and consider sending them to private school after that. The better elementary schools are in Fleetwood and basically almost anything that is in a non-Mt. Vernon PO. - Sun Aug 3 2008, 19:40
