The best thing you can do is pay them off, but don't cancel the account. Keep the account open but rip the cards up or destroy them, or give them to someone you trust. Closing an account can cost you points in the long run. You want to establish that you are a good risk. :) - Thu Jul 31 2008, 09:40
I have heard of Section 8, but I don't think that was what I was looking for. She is a student, not on welfare. Just does not make enough money. I had heard there were some Apt's that helped pay utilities. Maybe I was just misinformed.

I too would be interested in where to find this information also. I am also looking at a FSBO and my current agent has offered to "represent" us with us paying her the agent fee of 3% that would normally have been paid by the seller. That would actually have us paying her somewhere between 8-9% on the buying and selling end. My thought was - could the cost be less for me to just hire an attorney for the purchase of the home rather than paying my agent an additional fee? I posted this question in the past also, and did not get a direct answer to follow?
Thank you. - Sun Apr 6 2008, 07:50
