One route you can go is to list your home as a For Sale By Owner on other sites that allow it (craigslist or Zillow). You should shoot on over to Zillow.com and list your home for starters, its free and no hassle. This wont get your listing on all MLS sites though (such as Trulia).

If you go through an agent you will need to pay commission (typically 3% of the sale) to them for the service (along with the other valuable services they provide). Another option is a site like RedFin that will lsit on the MLS for you at about $2000 I believe (which typically is much less than an agents 3% commission, depending on the price of your home).
