Try Hoboken and reverse comute on the train. It will be about an hour train ride. You can't get much trendier than Hoboken in NJ. - Thu Jul 3 2008, 12:16
You should check out Titusville. Its a rural part of Hopewell Valley Township. Their are a bunch of big farm houses along river road that have for rent signs out front. - Thu Jul 3 2008, 12:10
School distric comparing is the 21st century equivalent of Red Lining. West Windsor School districts are way over crowded you have 45-50 kids in a class and the teachers are mediocre at best. The only reason the kids do well is because the parents push the kids to the extreme. They shell out thousands of dollars for tutors. All the teachers are graduates of TCNJ, Rider, or University of Delaware. They leave right after class lets out and by 3:30 pm they are all out the bars. Public schools in Mercer County will be unusable in 10 years. Better start saving for 40k per year for Peddie or Lawrenville Prep. - Wed Jul 2 2008, 08:41
Don't be a sucker and buy in West Windsor. Ewing is great !its safe, has a small town feel and unlike most towns the schools are not over crowded. You can get a 5 bedroom center hall colonial on an acre for about 350k. That might buy you a two bedroom condo in west windsor. Also, unlike West Windsor and Plainsboro, everyone in the town speaks english. You are still in the Princeton corridor and have easy access to the trains and I-95. In additon, the town is home to TCNJ which is one of the best small Colleges in the nation, and Computer Associates just moved into a large office complex in Ewing so you know the town is developing a strong economic base. I live in the West Trenton section of Ewing. I have an awesome 3000 square foot 4/5 bedroom 2 car garage, full basement and a huge yard. My taxes only $8k put my house in West Windsor and you can bet taxes would be $15k minimum. The schools are fine and the people who send their kids there will tell you that. It is the people who know nothing about Ewing that think the schools are bad. West Windsor, Princeton, Plainboro, they are all the new money people. The old money people live quietly up in Ewing, and Hopewell, drive pick up trucks, and enjoy a much better quality of life than others in Mercer County. - Thu Jun 19 2008, 12:40
