If you have Con Edison gas in the street in front of your house. Con Ed will give you the first 100' of gas service, the meter, excavation and backfill for free. Gas right now is about .75 on the the dollar to oil. Radiant heat is expensive to retrofit into an existing home but you can look at it if you are renovating any rooms.
