I have a house for sale here http://www.trulia.com/property/39318348-203-Briley-Ave-Oakland-FL .

It may not be for you but from your description Oakland sounds like the exact town you want. It is in between winter garden and clermont, you would not believe the amount of HUGE oak trees there are, and a very quiet and safe small town where people wave when you drive by. Small town feel with all the city needs and highways a short drive away.

Check it out and you will fall in love with the city. - Tue May 20 2008, 07:21

Orlando property market - how much further will it drop?

Canuck In Paradise answered:
I bought my own lot and built on it a few years ago, we also looked recently for my sister. If you are talking about vacant land, i have not seen a change in prices for lots at all since I was looking a few years ago. Houses have gone down but lots havent budged in my opinion. - Mon May 19 2008, 09:16

Hello,

I actually moved to central florida from up north a couple of years ago. Our house is now up for sale, here is the link http://www.trulia.com/property/39318348-203-Briley-Ave-Oakland-FL .

A great city to live in is Oakland, it is not a cookie cutter neighbourhood and the city is full of huge oak trees, quiet and everyone is very friendly. There are many good schools close by (in Oakland and Winter Garden), Oakland Charter School, Lakeview Middle School and West Orange High School to name a few. - Mon May 19 2008, 09:13

Buying house for rental investement in Orlando

Canuck In Paradise answered:
I have a home for sale in the Winter Garden Area that Matthew is talking about. I am down the street from the turnpike, the 408 and the 429 which gets you everywhere in Orlando. I am 25 minutes from disney, sea world, Universal and I drive, they have also just built a 1 million sq ft shopping center minutes away.

My listing is here http://www.trulia.com/property/39318348-203-Briley-Ave-Oakla… - Wed May 14 2008, 13:03

Hello Tracey,

I live in Oakland, just moved here a little over a year ago. Lots are that expensive in Oakland, it depends where. In the area of oakland i live in there are 4 lots, going for $150+ each, mind you they havent sold but they are asking that much. I know a few people that bought their land in oakland approx 5 years ago for $20k-$40k and sold them recently for over $100k. I kick myself for not moving here earlier.

Oakland is a great city, I love it. If you do get it professionally appraised please post what the results were, I am interested as well.

We are actually going to be putting our house up for sale in the next month or so, nothing to do with the area just moving back up north for family reasons. - Thu Oct 11 2007, 10:43
