I also forgot to mention that Delta College will soon begin construction on a satellite campus within Mountain House with many shared services offered to its residents. - Tue Jan 29 2008, 04:17
I neglected to mention that the Lammersville School District has hired a consultant to investigate the feasibility of high school unification. We, as a community, are committed to having our own high school sooner rather than later. - Tue Jan 29 2008, 04:01
A lot of answers from people who don't even live here. All services are based on rooftops, and yes sales have slowed. But, MH is still a great place to live. Shopping is VERY close, and its very nice to not have the traffic that accompanies the stores. You do have to have patience moving here, but its a great place for families and the community spirit is excellent. What we lack in amenities, we make up for in grass-roots, community led activities such as a brand-new Little League, a Mother's Club, etc. If a close community feel appeals to you, check us out. - Tue Jan 29 2008, 03:58
It does depend on the community in which you buy. There are many, many homes that do not have fees, I live in one of them. I would say the majority do not. - Tue Jan 29 2008, 04:14
There is a small amount of crime here, but show me a place where there isn't. I know I've never felt safer anywhere else. We have dedicated sheriffs who patrol only Mountain House and a dedicated fire house. - Tue Jan 29 2008, 04:10
Eric, you're killing me with all your posts about MH. Where did you say you sell homes, Patterson? Fun? What do you really know about MH? I want to keep this civil, but you're really misrepresenting our town and you're posting on nearly every MH question. If you are family minded, there is plenty to do in MH. We have a creek that runs through town with a great walking path. We have Little League. We have many fairs and carnivals centered around the schools. We have an annual Fun Run. There is a Mother's Club with many sponsored events. We have martial arts classes, and on and on. MH is going to take some patience, but its a great place to live. - Tue Jan 29 2008, 04:08
Forget Discovery Bay. You should join us in Mountain House. A great growing town with a real sense of community. Great for families! Check out mhvillages.com. MANY of the families here commute to the Silicon Valley, either driving or using ACE train out of Tracy. Give us a look.
