Does Hawaii have good school district?

Robin Bishop answered:
Let's make sure we don't make mountains out of mole hills. It needs to be remembered that as far as public shool does in this state goesm there is only one school district for the entire state. So, distinctions between the quality of public schools from island to island is useless. They are all run the same under the same system. Without getting into specifics, I say again, you will want to send your children to a private school where are the parents have a personal investment in the learning of their children. If I did not have the financial resources to do that, I would homeschool them, or frankly not move here. It is that serious an issue. - Sat Feb 2 2008, 23:50
You will want to pay tuition to a private school. - Thu Jan 31 2008, 17:09

I'm a two year resident on the North side of the island without vested interest in the buying or selling of property. Mountain View is one of many locations provided relative bargains. Please appreciate the fact that we do not have changing seasons here. What we do have are climates that tend to stick with geographical orientations of the island. Most of Mountain View is pretty dry relative to the general wet climate of the Island. But this is relative to altitude. There are people here that use wood burning stoves this time of year because of altitude.
Mountain View has an enormous number of vacant recently built homes all because of the slowdown in sales. The island really positioned itself for this problem in part because prices skyrocketed over the past five years to incredible levels. It can be argued that Hawaii has the highest median cost of housing as related to median household income in the entire country. You should also consider that the very low unemployment rate is artificial, in my opinion, with actual unemployment and underemployment serious problems for us. Hilo, one of two major cities here is experiencing a downturn in tourism. If you want to support your ground plants, you will want to supplement it with catchment. Commute times will eventually be an irritant for going to Kona or Hilo for major eating and shopping. But perhaps that distance is what you want. - Thu Jan 31 2008, 17:03
