John, my realtor did not "choose" the home inspector. It was me who did the research and chose the inspector. The information that my agent provided was only "part" of my analysis and selection process.
I did not get trapped or anything like that.

I certainly know that a buyers agent does more than the 3 things that you mentioned. The agent also negotiates with sellers party based on our specifications, and my last agent even worked to evaluate home inspectors, found me a good attorney, did market analysis for all homes that I liked, and was there all hours of the day to answers my questions about the home and the transaction. So, lets be fair, some of these guys certainly deserve the commission they are getting. - Mon Aug 11 2008, 12:46
