Your question, just made me remember an interesting tip that a contruction manager told me regarding a high rise condo building that he was in charge of. Stone/granite containing high levels of radon gas where ground up and mixed with poured concret to form the walls of a high rise building. After testing it was found that there were high levels of radon gas inside the building on the upper floors...pretty serious stuff... leading cause of lung cancer. Do your research and test your home! You can test yourself, visit Home Depot or call a professional home inspector who does radon testing using electronic machines.
