PS I'm not a realtor by the way, just looking on the site and thought I'd send you a note to help. Polk and Rutherford are VERY CONSERVATIVE....counties. And I can't stress VERY enough. :-) And it is no where near the Smokies either. - Sun Jul 27 2008, 08:53
In answer to your motel question....I'm sure in this economy you could negotiate a long term stay. We stayed at the Residence Inn in Asheville when looking but it was very pricey, about $1800 for the month. There are many many motels, especially out in the Cherokee area, where you could probably do it. Check out Hot Springs, Sandy Mush, Cherokee, Enka, Waynesville, Marshall, Mars Hill, all very close to Asheville and could have what you're looking for. (Cherokee's an hour away; Waynesville, about 30 mins. the rest are very close in). The closer you are to Asheville the more liberal the area is, too, Cherokee being the exception as it is where the Harrah's Casino is on the reservation. Nice place. - Sun Jul 27 2008, 08:51
market. The word was cut off. When searching Homes sold there is a sold price, but no listing price. And, the historical and assessment records are not any help at all (usually the same information as the sold price). So, why isn't the listing price also shown? I'd like to know if the $400,000 house sold for $200,000 or if the $350,000 sold for $352,501 - Sun Jul 27 2008, 08:45
