Cameron Station community.

JustNewListings.com answered:
Hi "L",

The best way to answer this question is for me or another realtor to send you a link to a bunch of the cameron station listings so you can observe its location on the map, prices and virtual tours. I can also send you link to a few school report websites so you can check for yourself the local school rankings. Transportation is convenient. You can catch the bus to the metro right from Duke St. from which you enter Cameron Station. Traffic is brutal on Duke during rush hour though even though one is so close to the metro and 395. But that's my opinion and I'd advise you check it out yourself.
This link will work for 30 days:

And go to my website for more info on Alexandria.

relocating to northern virginia

Here are a couple articles I've written on the topic, Liz. If you are going to buy in Ashburn, probably Lenn Harley below would know that market best to serve you.

There is a wide variety of market conditions in Northern VA. In North Springfield inventory is up 40%. In Arlington we're getting 16% more transactions per month compared to 2006 and prices are much more stable. Here are a couple articles I've written on the matter:

Why are realtors from around the country answering local questions? I thought the point of Trulia was for consumers to receive advice from local realtors who know the market. Hopefully some of those would be from realtors who actually have accurate instincts on their marketplace. The general answers to this question were fine, but most of you do not have the local MLS data handy to specifically answer Chris's question.

When trulia voices (TV) first launched, we had active rain realtors throw each softball questions to their friends around the country so they could manipulate the TV system and become the top voices in their locals. This is pathetic behavior. Reeks of desperation....

And for Grant Howell's answer, you have no clue what you're talking about. So why did you bother answering? Sounds like you bought into some national media report on real estate---almost all of which are worthless when it comes to local markets. So I'd recommend sticking to yours. I'd also recommend more adding some content to your website :)

And Chris, if you want a specific answer, you can fill out the form w/ your address at my website easy enough.

I assume you are talking about 1001 L Street--Quincy Park. A unit is about to close there on the 15th that will be a great comp by which to judge the values of the other 2 active listings there.

Anyway, perhaps a regular citizen will be able to answer your question on the matter as realtors are not allowed by law to state whether neighborhoods are "safe" or not. It is considered a violation of fair housing, etc. I would say this...it's a hot area and I'd be cool with my sister living there if that helps at all. The best I could do on this question is refer you to some websites that offer police reports if you wanted to compare the area to others in DC.

Hi, I took a quick peek for you and mostly found townhouses in your price range in that school district. Since January there have only been 2 or 3 detached homes that sold within that price range. Here's the URL for you to view a gallery format of the homes under $550,000 for your daughter at the link I provided.

Best regards,
