My son has had his home on the market in North County since June. He has had spurts of interest during this time but none that generated any offers. Recently he had two showings, each did generate an offer. However, the offers were comparable to the listing prices on foreclosures in his area that need a great deal of work. While his house is a starter, it is clean, in good condition, and in need of no repairs. He tried to negotiate but after counter offers back and forth, no deal was met. Both couples who bid on his house were prequalified or preapproved for 5 to 20 thousand below his asking price. As stated in an earlier post, they were looking for a bargain. - Tue Oct 21 2008, 18:42
