I don't know about that TMAN, I am pretty excited! It took a little over 2 months! We just finished filling out the property disclosure forms. I can't wait. thanks again for all your info!! - Wed Apr 9 2008, 18:08
I think I did it!!!! Contracts are in the works as I type this! - Wed Apr 9 2008, 14:13
thanks melinda, i really liked how you professionaly explained it nd were nice about it. I am willing to pay a realtor if they bring a buyer that does buy my house, just not the full commision. If she wants to make up for what % I didn't pay the buyers could make up for that- seems fair since she showed them tons of houses etc... that is all I was saying. I would never dream of not paying something
thanks again for being nice :) - Wed Mar 12 2008, 08:57
thanks Karen!!! You are right!! - Wed Mar 12 2008, 04:47
thanks Tman you are the best!! Obviously I hit a nerve.... I was jsut asking a question trying to be fair. didn't expect to get my head bit off. Especially by the real estate agents that expect my business and my 6-8% LOL-- or you know the education their car -- I am sure that is next.. have a great one! - Tue Mar 11 2008, 13:52
hey don,
I wouldn't mind paying if i felt I actually was getting what I was paying for. With many of you on this site clearly irritated by me not wanting to pay commisions I will assume you are the seldom few who actually do a great job for your clients. If i pay 16,000 in a commision, what do i get compared the person paying 8000 or less. From what i have been told - nothing- no more advertising, or better advertising placement nothing- So, that is why I have an issue with paying a %. Not that I don't think you deserve it but because i don't think that for the amount being paid I should get a little more than a client with a cheaper home, I also would think that someone who is paying more than me should get more services than me, but again from what I have been told NO. It is equal all around. Perhaps it is the area I live in and where you are from it is different. I wouldn't expect anyone to work for free and for any of you who thought that is what i meant - give me a break, but I think whats fair is fair and at this time I don't think the way my areas realtors are set up that it is a fair set up. Almost everyone I talk with in my area is disappointed in what they have from their realtor. The lack of advertising being a big complaint. We have several people relocating to our area and I am advertising more than the person across the street who has her home listed wih an agent. I have also had more out of state call back about people not in the areabut interested. She has nothing. So, I am not against realtors in general and I am not against paying what is owed whether its the 3% or 6% I just want to know that my realtor would have done morew for me than what I have done for me so far. And right now I am suing my neighbors as my guide and they have had nothing. They are jsut listed on MLS, which I am not but it has done nothing for them. So Please don't mis read me, I don't mind paying but I am not paying for nothing. - Tue Mar 11 2008, 13:06
Marilyn,
we actually priced less than other homes. Not the full 6% but still less. If I do decide to list with a realtor I hope I can find a nice one, who doesn't think they are owed something. - Tue Mar 11 2008, 12:11
Thank you for your answers. I am not against paying an agent something but I am not willing to pay for her to do the effort on her end by showing her client a dozen of houses before mine. I appreciate your answers on the rate and will keep that in mind but for now i guess i will just keep listing it by myself and and pass on letting agents show it. thanks again - Tue Mar 11 2008, 08:46
