I drove from Riverside Heights (in Middletown across the river from Red Bank) to Jersey City each day and it took me 45mins. Be careful coming home on Friday Nights during the summer, the traffic heading to the shore was CRAZY... I always stayed an extra few hours after work on Friday's to let the traffic die down..
I also moved from Florida to New Jersey. We currently live in Dallas. Based on all I heard about New Jersey I was concerned about living there, but the schools and people were great! My wife also commuted to NYC via Fast Ferry and found it very easy. Our neighbors used the train and others the bus. We are renting our property now but would consider selling it. We lived 2 blocks from the Navesink River just across from downtown Red Bank. If you would like more information send me an email with your questions. chris@ccwalters.com
My family and I live just across the Hwy 35 Bridge from Red Bank in Middletown, NJ. My wife takes the Belford Ferry into Manhattan each morning and when it's not running (one or twice a year) she take the train in. We are less then 5 minutes from Red Bank train station and 10 minutes to the Middletown Train Station. Our house is listed for Rent and for purchase on ForSaleByOwner.com. We are two blocks from the Navesink River and we only have 4 neighbors on our entire street. If your interested in seeing our house call me directly or visit my ForSaleByOwner.com link below.
