I live in Lincoln City and also have a home in Silverton. I travel it often. Normally it takes me about an 75 minutes. Longer when the weather is bad. - Tue May 6 2008, 01:49
Your best bet would be to discuss this with a realtor. I live in LC and think much depends on the location, lot size and of course the view. Mine is for sale in the SW area at $306 sf but does not include the extra 300+ sf in the finished daylight basement. People pay for a perfect view. seafairy - Tue May 6 2008, 01:44
I have a beautiful ocean view home, two car garage, 3 bedrooms, huge basement just remodled. Very private. And yes you can see the waves. The plus here is the lot is one of the largest in the area .26 acre and can even have a guest house built. What is your asking price as I am somewhat interested in a trade to a different area. I previously used mine as a vacation rental and did quite well. I came back to live here and did lots of remodeling. My dining room is right off of the kitchen, not really a formal one. It is listed on this site and also with john L Scott 2709 sw dune ave. seafairy - Tue May 6 2008, 01:39
I can speak from experience. I have a three level vacation home that I am now living in and its up for sale. I rented on my own, there are many web sites. Most of the rental companies take 30%. I had great success and repeat clients. All of the coast is pretty but I believe Lincoln city really draws people due to the outlet mall and the two close casinos. We also have a lake , bays and river all in the same town. LC has a nice variety of shops, antique stores, excellent restaurants and you have great little towns both north and south of LC. Mine is a very unique home on .26 acre. I provided everything clients needed except for their food and clothing. My feedback was the privacy, beautiful yard, ocean view and just a short walk to the beach. I also opted to allow pets which many don't. My yard is all fenced and very pet friendly. Families love to bring their pets to the beach with them. The con's there are times when it is not rented but if you market correctly you can make good deals for your past clients,, or use the down time for your own R and R. Hope this helps you.
